STAKES to Premiere at 2013 San Francisco Black Film Festival

Last year Corduroy Media partnered with Director Brandon Mason to shoot his short film "STAKES" in Birmingham, Alabama. Along with providing gear and support for the camera department, Carl D. Brown, Corduroy Media's Executive Creative Director, shot the film and assisted Birmingham Local DP Joe Walker. "STAKES" is premiering at the 2013 San Francisco Black Film Festival  June 13th-16th.

STAKES, written by Birmingham natives Brandon Mason and  Lance Lyles, was shot over the course of 5 days at 1/2 dozen locations around Birmingham. Carl shot on Corduroy Media's C300 with Zeiss CP2 lenses. Going for a big-picture look on a small-picture budget, Carl utilized the Dana Dolly, Steadicam, and Indi Dolly to keep the camera in motion.

Mason cast a talented crew for the ensemble, led by Azur De as "London" and Tobie Windham as "Jeremy" including cameos by Ruben Studdard and Big Gen.  To check out when STAKES and all the films at the 2013 San Francisco Black Film Festival are scheduled to screen check out their website: https://www.sfbff.org/
