San Francisco Video Production, Photography, and Animation Company Corduroy Media recently had the opportunity to produce a day in the life short documentary-style video on Olympic Swimmer Nathan Adrian.
The U.S.A. Swimming (the National organization that governs professional swimming) contacted us to shoot and edit a profile on Nathan before he headed off to the Olympic Trials. They saw our other short documentary-style videos on the Cancer Hope Network and Time Productions (most recently on Bionic Exoskeletons) and liked our style.
We met Nathan at his house at 06:30 a.m. to shoot him rolling out of bed and eating breakfast before heading off to his practice. It is moments like these we always ask our clients to help us capture. The more personal access we get, the stronger and more unique pieces we can create.
Down at the pool, Carl broke out our dana dolly on 10-foot rails, while Sean strapped on his swimming goggles and hopped in the water with the Canon g12 and Ikelite housing. The dynamic range of shots we were able to get with such a range of production tools really made the edit stand out.
We were stoked to see Nathan compete in the Olympics this summer. He ended up winning Gold in the 100-meter freestyle and the 4x100 meter relay! We wish Nathan the best, he is such a down-to-earth guy and we really enjoyed producing the video.
